Candle Care Guide

To make sure you get the most out of your candles, proper care is essential. Below are the tips for the candle care.

How to burn the candles?

1. Light your candle in a well-ventilated area, away from drafts and fans, as these can lead to sooting (black marks on the container) or cause the candle to burn unevenly and too quickly.

2. For best results, burn the candles for 1.5 to 2 hours at a time or until the wax has pooled to the edges. Shorter burns can lead to tunnelling, where wax builds up along the sides of the container. Burning for more than four hours may cause the wick to shift or tilt.

3. Always extinguish your candle when there is about 10mm of wax left at the bottom, and keep an eye on it as the wax level decreases.

How to care for the wick?

1. Keep the wax pool free from wick trimmings and matches, as any debris can act as a secondary wick, causing your candle to burn more quickly.

2. After extinguishing your candle, make sure to center and straighten the wick. If the wick is too long or shifts during burning, it can come dangerously close to the side of the container. If this happens, put out the flame and adjust the wick to prevent damage to the vessel.

3. Long wicks can lead to high flames, smoke, or soot. To avoid these issues, trim the wick to 5mm after each burn, once the wax has cooled and set.

How to care for Sculptural and Pillar candles?

1. These candles are intended to tunnel, where the wax melts toward the center. It’s best to place them on a candle plate to catch any drips.

2. Avoid exposing them to external heat sources, as this can soften the outer wax layer and lead to spills from the inner core.

3. These candles are delicate, so it’s important to adhere to proper candle care practices, including monitoring burn time, trimming wicks, and appropriate storage.
